Wisdom Literature class update: Details for the First Meeting

Due to the cancellation of classes last 11/8/13, our first meeting on 11/15/13 will cover the following:

1. Quiz on the Glossary of Important Terms for Biblical Studies
Example of a question: What is Septuagint?

2. Quiz on the text of Proverbs as scheduled (Proverbs chapters 1-31, familiarity with the book)

Example of a question: .In the Book of Proverbs. Wisdom has built her house with pillars. How many pillars?

3. Our first meeting covers a short introduction of the course followed by a general view of interculturality in the Old Testament.

4. Required books that you should bring all the time:
o NRSV Lectio Divina edition
o Ceresko, Introduction to Old Testament Wisdom (Claretian, 2000). Copies are still for sale at the Arnoldus Library
